In just four days, you will get to visit many well-known landmarks in the capital city of Bangkok and the ancient capital Ayuthaya.
You will get to experience many spectacular activities such as exploring the Damuern Saduak floating market on a small canoe, touring Bangkok at night in the famous tuk-tuk, and attending a cooking class to explore the traditional cuisine of Thailand. After landing at Sunvarnabhumi International Airport in Bangkok, we will take transfer you to the hotel. After lunch, the tour will begin by visiting the Royal Palace, a spectacular architectural complex with more than 20 acres and the home to the current Thai royal family. This palace was constructed in the late 18th century after the royal family moved the capital from Thonburi to Bangkok. After, you will visit China Town which has the largest Chinese population in Thailand to enjoy the street food here. You will spend the first night in Bangkok.
After breakfast, you will travel to the Ancient Capital Ayutthaya – a UNESCO world cultural heritage since 1991. Ayuthaya was founded by King Ramathibodi I in 1350, and after more than 400 years of prosperity with 7 dynasties and 33 Kings, the ancient capital was destroyed by the Burmese army in 1767 in 15-month long siege. We will begin at Bang Pa-In Royal Palace, also known as the Summer Palace of King Rama The Fifth. This palace, though abandoned for almost 2 centuries, still holds the vestige of a past filled with glories of a prosperous dynasty.
Later, you will visit the Wat Mahathat Temple, built in 1374 at the center of the Ayutthaya Imperial Palace. Here, you will get the impressive sight of the Buddha’s face covered in pagoda tree roots, creating a vivid yet mystical spectacle. You will continue to Wat Na Phra Mane Temple, one of the few temples untouched by the Burmese army and its original architecture still intact. The next stop is Wat Lokayasutharam Temple, with a giant outdoor Buddha statue made of brick and cement (121 feet long and 26 feet meters tall). After lunch, the you will return to Bangkok on a yacht sailing along the beautiful Chao Phraya River. Visitors will have the opportunity to admire the magnificent Bangkok Imperial Palace and the majestic Temple of Dawn from the deck. In the evening, you will visit the entertaining Asiatique Night Market and spend the night in Bangkok.
In the morning, you will explore the Damnuern Saduak floating market, the oldest and the most bustling market in Thailand where you will find many diverse products ranging from agricultural products to spices and handicrafts. You will get to tour the whole market on a boat along the canals and weave among the sampans on which merchants sell their diverse goods. This visit to Damnuern Saduak floating market will let you truly experience Thailand beautiful culture.
After lunch, you will return to Bangkok to visit the two most famous temples in Thailand. First is the Golden Buddha Pagoda (Wat Tramit), which has the world’s largest golden Buddha statue, made of pure gold and worth over 28.5 million British Pounds, weighing about 5.5 tons and over 700 years of age.
The next destination is Wat Pho Pagoda, the oldest and largest pagoda of Bangkok (over 30 square miles), which has a reclining statue of a seated Buddha statue of 150 feet long and 50 feet tall. The entire statue is gold-plated, the eyes and feet are decorated with precious jewels. After that, you will spend the rest othe night in Bangkok.
After breakfast, you will visit Wat Arun Pagoda, also known as the Temple of Dawn and the most ancient pagoda in Bangkok with a unique architecture. Here exists a prang tower of almost 230 feet tall and decorated with crystals imported from China. After, we will transfer you to Sunvarnabhumi International Airport for you flight home.
