Taiwan – A Holistic Experience 7D6N

After landing at Taoyuan International Airport in Taiwan, you will be picked up and transferred to your hotel in Taitung and spend some time freshening up. In the afternoon, the tour will officially begin with the Fengjia Night Market, one of the most exciting night markets in the world. Though being a small country, Taiwan has many night markets happening throughout the year where tasty street food called xiao-chi are served to many foodies from around the world. From 5:00 PM until 2:00 AM, the Fengjia Night Market features many signature Taiwanese dishes such as deep-fried fish balls, fried tofu, fried chicken, fermented tofu, grilled oyster, and grilled squid. After such a feast, you will spend you first night in Taitung.

After breakfast, you will explore the famous Sun Moon Lake, which is one of the top 8 attractions in Taiwan, . Positioned right in the middle of Taiwan, Sun Moon Lake is the largest and most beautiful freshwater lake in Taiwan, where the beauty of the lake changes with each season and each time of the day. Next, you will visit Syuanguang Temple which lies in the center of Sun Moon Lake and get a panoramic view of the surrounding scenery.
After, you will pay a visit to Wen Wu Temple where Confucius and Guan Yu are worshipped. Wen Wu Temple is constructed on the hilly bank of Sun Moon Lake with a unique architecture stretching along the lake to create an outstanding view. Then, you will head to Kaohsiung, the 2nd largest city in Taiwan and warped around by the Love River to create a romantic scenery. There, you will have the chance to visit the Liuhe Night Market, walk along the Love River, and explore the beautiful Fomosa Train Station. Afterwards, you will rest for the night in Kaohsiung.

In the morning, you will travel to Fo Guang Shan Temple, the most grandeur and complex temple system in Taiwan. Next, we will take you to Lotus Pond where thousands of lotuses have been grown since the Qin Dynasty and one of the top attractions in Kaohsiung. Around the pond, there are also many beautiful temples and shrines such as Spring and Autumn Shrine, Dragon and Tiger Tower, Confucius Shrine… All these temples, shrines, and pagodas have definitely made Kaohsiung the religious and cultural center in Taiwan. Afterwards, you will transfer to Taitung and spend the night there.

After breakfast, you will continue to explore Taitung, known as the last unexplored region of Taiwan and stretching for 170km along Taiwan’s eastern coast. There, you will visit Sanxiantai, multiple islets created from wind and erosion by the shore. According to legends, those small islets are the footsteps of ancient fairies and gods resting in Taiwan. This group of islets is connected to the main land by a red long bridge resembling a dragon rising out of the ocean.
You will go on to visit Shitiping Beach, named after the unique geographical construction created by million years of erosion caused by the wind and sea. The last destination of the day is the 23.5o North Latitude, the division between two temperate climates in Taiwan.

Today, we will take to you explore the Taroko National Park along the eastern coast of Taiwan with an area of more than 355 square miles. The national park attracts thousands of visitors per year with its majestic scenery consisted of tall mountains with steep cliffs, glistening waterfalls, and a diverse ecosystem, giving the feeling of something out of a fairy tale.
At the national park, you will also visit Tunnel of Nine Turns, the most beautiful part of the park. The tunnel is a beautiful combination of small streams, mountain cliffs, and strange plants, giving travelers the feeling of walking into another world. At the end of the tunnel lies Eternity Temple, a place to worship the workers that helped construct a tunnel through Taroko. After, you will take the train to Yilan and spend the night there.

In the morning, you will travel from Yilan to Taipei, where we will spend the whole day exploring famous attractions in the area. You will start at Lungshan Temple, one of the most ancient temples in Taiwan and also where many religious activities take place. After, you will spend some time at the Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall, an architectural monument to pay respect to Chiang Kai-Shek, an important political figure in the history of Taiwan.
You will then travel to the Taipei 101 building, the tallest building in East Asia and the second in the world, just after the Burj Khalifa, to enjoy the panoramic view of the whole city. Next, you will visit the Taiwanese National Museum which houses the largest collection of ancient Chinese artworks from many ancient dynasties. In the afternoon, you will visit the Ximiending District, a historical site since Japanese colonialism and now the most popular entertainment district in all of Taiwan. After, you get to explore Taipei at your own leisure and spend the night there.

After breakfast, we will transfer you to Taoyuan International Airport for your flight home. The tour ends here and we hope you had a great time traveling with CaliTravel.
